This week we were talking about our families, our senses, and beavers too. We practiced our family vocabulary and we made a family tree and read a family book. We learned about our sense of taste and touch this week too. We used all our senses to explore items we couldn't see. We also used our senses to eat an apple. We talked about the size, shape, color, texture, taste and smell of our apple. We made all sorts of interesting observations. We made a sense model on Friday to help remind us of our 5 senses.. Je peux(I can) toucher(touch), sentir(smell), entendre(hear), voir(see), et gouter(taste). On Monday we read a story about beavers (castor) and that got us wondering about what beavers eat and where they live. We did a little research and learned a bit about beaver dams and beaver homes. We also learned how to draw a swimming beaver. In math we practiced sorting items, we played some subitizing games (to help us recognize groupings of up to 10 items) and we continued to practice number recognition and number writing practice. Our letters this week were a,t,d,c. We are learning that some letters are ladybug letters because they fit between the lines when we write them. We learned that t is different because it is a giraffe letter. It stretches tall and touches the top line when we write it. | On Wednesday we talked about anti bullying day. We learned what bullying is and what it isn't. We found out that a bully is someone who repeatedly says and does mean things to others. We learned that one good way to deal with bullies is to "Stop, walk, and talk." We also learned that it is our responsibility to help others who are not being treated nicely. We talked about letting an adult know how we are feeling too. |
