We started this week with a celebration of Lunar New Year in our classroom. We learned a little bit about this event and made some lanterns and even a dragon puppet with our buddies. On Wednesday we asked ourselves what we could do as a special act of kindness. We read the story "Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed." and learned that sometimes a small act can make a big difference in peoples lives. We decided to made cookies and cards for Mrs Dojohn's class and our big buddy class and we challenged them to find their own kind act to do to keep the kindness chain going. We also talked about some other ways we can be kind to each other and ourselves. We had fun in the library experiencing the new STEM bins that Mrs. Rogal had created for us. We need to work together as a team to complete the building challenges. We are playing lots of oral language games trying to get more comfortable speaking in French and we are trying very hard to use French when speaking to Madame and each other in a classroom. It can be a little frustrating at times but we are doing our best. We are continuing to work on our writing remembering to draw pictures with details and trying to use the sounds we know to write words. We are also using the words around the classroom in our writing. We are learning some new sight words. We can read le, la, un, une, ta(your), sa(hers), va (go). Our letters this week were F,G and B. We are learning some compound sounds too. We know the sounds that CH and ON make. | |
