This week we started to explore measurement. Some of us had fun trying to measure each other and other objects in the classroom. We are also continuing to explore addition and we are reviewing patterning too. We have been practicing our poem for our oral language presentation on the 23. We have also been having fun playing with simple dialogues and practicing acting them out. Mme is encouraging us to all try and speak only French in class. It is tricky but some of us are getting very good at it. Monday we had Brazilian dancers and musicians visit the school. We created beautiful tiles for our school wide ReconciliACTION mosaic on Thursday and we attended an assembly. On Friday we had our FUN RUN celebration assembly. Things are starting to grow in our garden. We are excited to see when we will be able to taste what we grew. We also each picked an oviparous (egg laying) animal we were interested in and we are going to try and learn more about them over the next few weeks. Some animals people chose were snakes, spiders, turtles, sharks, tarantulas, birds and fish. Here are some things we are working on: I can use non-standard items to measure items. I can combine groups together to make a new number. I can use the French I know to communicate. I can focus on a task and work independently. I can read simple syllables. I can connect French words to letters of the alphabet. | |
