We participated in Flag day and learned what a good citizen is. Paula Scott was here this week. We designed and painted a Canadian flag by choosing our own Canadian symbols we thought represented Canada. We learned that other countries and provinces have flags too.
We learned a song in Okanagan. We also played drums. We sung it at our Harmony day assembly with the whole school.
On Thursday we learned a little about Chinese New Year and heard a few words in Mandarin. We also used our measuring skills to make a lantern.
We are taking a few "tests" in the next few weeks. They are just short assignments that we need to finish on our own without any help. They aren't scary and we are just to do our best. They help both Mme and the students figure out what we need to get better at and what we already know how to do really well.
In math we are still working on subtraction facts. We are also very very close to 100 day. We are very excited to count down the last few days. In preparation we are trying to write and read 100 words. A 100 words sheet should have gone home for you to practice. If you didn't get it you can find it here.
