| This week we continued our shape inquiry. We know the difference between 2D and 3D shapes. We also know the names of some 3D shapes in French - cône, sphère,prisme rectangulaire, pyramide and cube. We wrote sentence stories this week. We knew how to add a character and action to our story. This week we worked on adding a setting. We are starting to try and write sentences that tell us who, what and where. (qui, quoi, ou). The flowers we planted last week have started to sprout already. We are pretty excited to see what they will look like when they are fully grown. We started an Eric Carle author study this week. We discovered that Eric Carle was both an author and an illustrator. We read a few of his books and we decided to try and make a collage like Eric Carle. We made special paper and then we made our own pictures with it. One of the books we read was the hungry caterpillar in French. This lead us to having some questions about caterpillars and butterflies. We did a little bit of research on the subject and will continue to look into it next week. |

This week we are continuing our seasons inquiry. We have been comparing all the seasons. Ms Alexis came and taught us how the Okanagan people used some local plants. We are learning about different animals and how they adapt to their environments and the weather too! We have been working on a secret art project for someone special. In math we are continuing to work with simple addition and writing our numbers. We are learning to read and write new words and we are working on our story writing skills. We are also working hard to use the French we know in class. Some words we know now: la,le, les, sur, ton, toi, tu, grand, grande, c'est, je vois, je mange. |
