There will be NO SCHOOL on the following days:
- Monday, February 17 (Family Day)
- Friday, February 21 (Professional Development Day)
Outdoor Explorations Field trip – due to weather, our Outdoor Exploration was cancelled on January 24. We have rescheduled for Wednesday, February 5th. We will enjoy learning Inuit games on our lower field in the morning. Please let me know if you are able to join us on Wednesday morning.
More Skating Field Trips – We will be skating two more times: Friday, February 14 in the morning from 9:00 am – 10:00 am and Tuesday, February 25 from 9:30-10:30 Due to the early start time, the bus will pick us up hopeful by 8:45 am. If you would like your child to experience the full hour, please know that you can drive your child to the arena at 8:45 am and help them get their skates and helmet on. IF YOU PLAN TO DO THIS, LET ME KNOW SO I CAN MARK YOU CHILD PRESENT. As soon as our bus arrives, a teacher will get on the ice and students can begin skating. Many of the students worked so hard last time and are beginning to skate independently. It is amazing to see how far they come in three sessions.
Westwood Visit - we will be going to Westwood Retirement home again on Thursday, February 13 to share our songs and poems with them. This will occur from 1:00-1:30 pm. Parents are welcome to join us as well.
Valentine’s Day –The students will have the opportunity, on Friday, February 14 to distribute Valentine cards for their classmates. I have attached a class list so that no one is left out. This is a great exercise in practicing printing skills and recognition of classmates’ names. It would be a good idea to get started early and have your child begin addressing and signing a few cards a day so that the job does not become overwhelming.
