The Story of Our Names- Next Show and Tell
Our next show and tell will be link to the Okanagan First Nation story called, “How Names Were Given”. Students will be asked to wonder how their names were chosen. The children are encouraged to find out the story behind their name(s) from their parents
On a piece of paper have your child write their name or use the template provided and draw some pictures to explain how they got their name. On the back please write the story of how their name was chosen. Talk to your child about this story so that they can share it with us.
This can be done in English but when possible I will encourage some French vocabulary such as “maman”, “papa”, “mon nom” and teach more vocabulary in each individual presentations.
All that is necessary for this show and tell is for the students to decorate the front page and for you to write a description of how their name was given in the front or the back of the paper.
