This week we have been learning the names of some 3D (cube, prisme rectangulaire, sphere, cylindre) and reviewing some 2D shapes names. On or our questions this week was what is the difference between a square and a rectangle? We are also continuing to make plans, work together and build with 3D shapes. We have been working on building our sight word vocabulary in French this week. We realized that most of us can read bonjour. We also added the words le and la to our word wall. We had fun playing with silly sentences about animals and trying to read them. We are continuing to work on reading simple syllables too. We wrote a few journal entries this week too. We are continuing to work on drawing with details, and trying to use the sounds we know to write. We also know that we can look around the room to find words we need. On Friday we started our Kindness inquiry. We asked ourselves, what is kindness? We read a story to give us an idea. Things we are working on: I know all my letter names. I can sing or say the alphabet. I know all my letter sounds. I can count to 20. I can talk about the features or 2D and 3D shapes. I can name 3D (sphere, prisme rectangulaie, cylindre, cube, pyramide) and 2D shapes (oval, losange, carre, rectangle, traingle, cercle) I can create something with 3D shapes. I can read simple syllables. I can read some sight words (le, la, bonjour) I can talk about things I like or don't like in French. I can start a polite conversation. I can talk about people in my family. I can use my imagination. I can say what a period is for. I know that sentences start with a capital letter. I can draw a detailed picture. I can start to put letters on paper to represent words. I use the sounds I know to write. | |
