Our letters this week were W, S, H. H is another tricky letter in French because it is a silent letter in most cases. When we read the word hibou (owl) it sounds like it starts with the letter i instead of h.
We continued our spider exploration by trying to find out what colors spiders are. Most of us thought they are black(noir) or brown(brun) some of us knew about black widow spiders (les veuves noires) and so we added red to our list. Once we starting looking however we discovered that spiders come in all sorts of colors.
This website had a cool way to sort north american spiders by color. http://www.spiders.us/species/ We then used our spider books draw spiders and label them by color.
We read a new Pat le chat book this week. We also made a Pat le chat with our big buddies. We started new morning centers. They are table tubs. Each tub contains 5-7 activities. Students can choose what activity they would like to try. The tub will stay at the same table for 1 week.
