This week our letters were A, Z and C. We learned that C has 2 sounds. It sometimes makes a K sound and it sometimes makes a S sound. We learned to print the number 4. We are getting pretty good at counting to 10 and some of us can count to 40 or more in French. We are continuing our color exploration this week. Our colors this week were jaune (yellow) and orange. We asked ourselves what we already knew about colors. We knew that there are lots of colors and that some colors match, while other colors don't go well together. We knew that we could mix colors too. We wondered what mixing different colors would make. We wondered how we can see colors and we wanted to know how we could use color. Some of us wanted to learn more about color matching and what made some colors match with others. We talked about how people get answers to their tough questions. We decided that we could read books, watch videos, ask our parents, our teachers or even a scientist and that we could do experiments or explorations to figure things out on our own. During our first color exploration afternoon we played with the colors yellow, red, orange and white. We discovered that we could create all sorts of different shades of orange using those colors. We also made a mural, sorted things, looked for the colors in pictures, practiced writing our color words. It was busy but a lot of fun too. We are continuing to work on our collaborative color art project. This week we made a bee (abeille) and we we learned how to draw and color an orange. | |
