Our letters this week are G, J and I. G and J can be a little tricky to remember because their names sound pretty close to each other and they share the same sound sometimes. In math, we are all about subitizing. We have been practicing seeing groups of dots, objects and ten frames and saying their names without counting them. We are getting pretty good at doing it for numbers up to 5. There is a song below that we use to practice. The song is in English but we say our numbers in French. We also learned how to write the number 5 this week. We will keep practicing writing those numbers until we are really good at them. We are also continuing to play with colors. We are beginning to learn about primary colors and secondary colors. We are also pretty good at using our color words in French. We are learning to ask and answer question in French too. We practicing answering yes and no questions in French. For example - Are you wearing blue? (Est-ce que tu porte du bleu?) Yes, I am wearing bleu ( Oui, je porte du bleu.) or No, I am not wearing bleu. (Non, je ne porte pas de bleu) | We did a mini teeth (les dents) exploration this week. With so many of us losing teeth we had lots of questions about cavities, (les caries) why we lose teeth and how teeth grow. We learned why it is important to brush (brosse les dents) our teeth and how teeth grow. We also discovered that we have 20 teeth in our mouths when we are kids but adults have more teeth! |
