Some things we are working on: I can say the alphabet in French. I can identify my own emotions. I can count five objects in French. I can make observations. I can record what I see. I am willing to take risks and try speaking in French. I can identify expected and unexpected behaviours. | This week we started our pumpkin study. Mme Hawtree brought real pumpkins to school. We learned what scientists do and we discovered we could do the same thing too. We took some time to examine the outside of the pumpkins. We are starting to form some questions about pumpkins and next week we will get to open them up and see what is inside. We also talked about the fact that both artists and scientists draw things but that when we are drawing like an artist we can add our own imagination to our drawings. When we are drawing like an scientist we are recording what we really see. We drew pumpkins like a scientist and later we did some pumpkin art too. We had our very first real fire drill this week. Boy the bell was loud. It scared us a little but we knew exactly what to do because we practiced. Next week we will be having 2 more fire drills. We have to practice many times to make sure we are ready if there is a fire. We have been continuing our work learning about the zones. We did a project to help us learn about our different feelings. We also some strategies to use when we are angry to help us feel better. We are beginning to work on conservation and one to one correspondence in math. We are practicing counting objects. We are also still working on how to print our capital letters and we are trying to learn to say the whole alphabet in French. |
