This week our letters were U and V. We also learned how to write the number 1. We continued to practice recognizing and creating patterns.
We made some clay citrouilles(pumpkins). We are starting to learn our shapes in French. We know cercle, oval and triangle. We are also working on size words. (grand, petit). We spent a little time looking at our pumpkin experiment. Not much has happened yet. Some of us still think that the pumpkin might explode at any time. A few of us are wondering if it will melt away. Someone wondered if since there was dirt and seeds we might see a plant grow, maybe even a flower.
The pumpkin patch field trip was fun. We went on a hay ride, walked through a corn maze and played. We also got to see some poule (chickens), cochon (pigs) and ânes (donkeys).
We are continuing to talk about expected and unexpected behaviors and we are learning how some things are okay in some places but not okay in others. We noticed that when something unexpected happens it can make us feel uncomfortable, surprised, upset or it can make us laugh.
We started talking a little bit about remembrance day this week. We learned the word for poppy in French. We also are learning a song about remembrance day. We made a poppy craft too.
Here is some things we are working on learning:
I can recognize and create a rhyme.
I can write the numbers 1-5.
I can make an ABB and AAB pattern.
I know my colors in French.
I know some shapes in French.
I can talk about myself.
I can listen to my partner when they are speaking.
I know the difference between expected and unexpected behaviours.
