We also learned that there is something called the broken rule. This is treating others the way they treat us. We decided that probably wasn't a very good rule to follow. These lessons are part of a program called Play is the Way that Mme Hawtree will be using with us. Next week we will learn how being brave can help us be better learners.
We have been learning that we need food for energy and to grow. We learned that some food give us good energy and some food gives us quick energy that isn't as good for us. We sorted foods into foods we can eat all the time and foods that we should only eat sometimes. In our journals this week we wrote about a fruit we like to eat.
We played restaurant and decided we would try and make our own healthy restaurant that only made all the time foods. We created our own menus and had a lot of fun pretending to be dishwashers, cooks, servers, and customers.
We are continuing our work with letters. We practiced writing the letters i, e and l this week. We also drew things that started with each letter.
We are continuing to work with numbers to 10. We are practicing counting on (starting to count from numbers other than 1). We are working on printing our numbers and recognizing groups of objects as a number.
On Friday, Mrs Holloway's class had a very special treat for us. As part of our Month of Love, the kindergarten classes have been trying to come up with ways to spread kindness in our school. Mrs Holloway's students decided to bake us some cookies and brought them to us on Friday. Our class thought this was a fantastic way of showing kindness and we decided we would like to do the same thing for Mme Godon's class next week!
