| On Our letters this week were D and P. We continued working on patterning. We learned that patterns can be identified as AB patterns (red, green, red, green) or as ABB patterns (red, green, green, red, green, green). Throughout the year we will be working on different goals. Each student may be working on different goals depending on mastery of a concept or idea. These goals are stated as I can statements. Here are some of the statements we are working on now. I can write my name. I can read my name. I can continue an AB pattern. I can create my own AB pattern. I can continue a ABB pattern. I can create my own ABB pattern. I can count to 5 in French. I can say colour words in French. I can try new things. I can be kind to others. We talked about Terry Fox this week. We talked about how Terry had a very big dream that seemed really impossible. We talked about the fact that even though it was hard he worked hard towards achieving it. We then thought about some dreams we might have that sounded really hard. We drew our dreams into a shoe. Some of our ideas included riding a mountain bike in the woods, building a house, climbing a mountain, and learning various skills. On Thursday we walked the Terry Fox run with our big buddies. |
We also worked together to create our class rules. Our rules are:
1) Work hard and do your best
2) Look, listen, think (whole body listening)
3) Keep your hands, feet and body to yourself
4) Raise your hand to speak at carpet
5) Keep everyone happy (Be kind, be a bucket filler, not dipper)
