This week we have been working on a few interesting questions. Our first questions were "What moves?" "How does it move?" "What causes things to move?" We did some exploratory play inside and outside to see what we could find out. Some of us figured out that things can roll (roule), slide (glisse) and tombe (fall). We also notices that we could make things move by pulling (tire), pushing (pousse). We continued doing some work on our Oviparous animal project. We started making our posters and we also did some research in some books. We are trying to figure out where our animal lives, what it eats, what color it can be, what they have and how they move. In math we are continuing to play with simple additions. We are learning that we can use different strategies to solve addition problems. Some of us just know the answer because we have learnt it over time.. Some of us count all the objects to figure out the answer or count on our fingers. Some of us count on from one of the numbers to find the answer. In writing we are continuing with Story Workshop. We are working on creating stories that have a character, a setting and an action. We are also working hard on trying to be able to tell our stories in French and write them too. We learned a new Okanagan word this week for Butterfly. We also learned a little about shawl dancing and we looked at some Indigenous art of butterflies. We tried to use paper to recreate our own versions of these art works. | |
