What a fun week full of art projects and learning! Our complex sound this week was OU. You find it in words like: jouer, mouton, roule You can play some OU games here. We also reviewed the letters z, b,d and f. Here is a great game to practice learning the difference between b and d. In math we learned how to use a number line and we are practicing counting and adding 1 more. Here is a number line to play with. Visit this page for a version of go fish that you can play at home that practices this concept. We also started our bear unit this week. We are reading various versions of Goldilocks and the three bears (Boucle d'or et les trois ours). We are looking about what is the same and what is different between the various versions. We also made puppets and will be practicing retelling the story. Later in the unit we will look at the differences between real bears and bears in stories. We also started working in our printing books this week. We are working on learning to form our letters correctly and making sure we use appropriate spaces, and stay between the lines. This week we relearned how to write the letters a and o. Click here for some video's on letter formation. | On Wednesday Paula Scott came to visit. We had the chance to make ourselves as animals. One of our other themes was Remembrance day. The students practiced for the the assembly and learned a little about why we have remembrance day. We made poppies. Our poem this week was about Remembrance day. Beau Coquelicot. Je me souviens beau coquelicot. En novembre quand il fait froid. Je me souviens beau coquelicot. Il y a des coquelicots partout. Il y a des coquelicots chez nous. Il y a des coquelicots pour toi. Il y a des coquelicots pour moi. Je me souviens beau coquelicot. Le jour du souvenir, le 11 novembre. |
